It has already been confirmed that Pedro Pascal will return as Joel in The Last of Us Season 2 but the Mandalorian star himself isn't certain about his character's future.

Still, Pascal has some ideas on what to expect in the second season considering that it will be based on the video game The Last of Us Part II.

"I don't know. I think Part Two has more leeway," Pascal told Variety.

"It seemed to be a different immersive experience, while things must happen for the central narrative to occur," he added.

"It seems it's a little bit more open," Pascal continued. That means I don’t f-cking know."

That sounds about right considering it was previously revealed that Pedro Pascal has not yet played the original Naughty Dog game.

During a conversation with former The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun, Pascal admitted he had no idea how the video game ends until Yeun explained it to him.

“You’ve told me more about the game than the creator of the video game,” Pascal told Yeun after finding out that the game ends with a long walk into the forest.

“So you’re saying that you get to a certain point but you still have to basically play but you’re not fighting anything or looking for anything… it’s not a scene in the video game,” he added.

The revelation was astounding for Pascal especially since the HBO series took a different direction with the ending. Needless to say, we're hoping he tries playing The Last of Us soon.

The Last of Us Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
