The conclusion of The Last of Us is only two weeks away but it looks like we won't have to wait very long before we see the next season. Pedro Pascal shared an update on The Last of Us Season 2 and he has confirmed that they will begin filming very soon.
It's no secret that the first season of The Last of Us will consist of only nine episodes which means that there are only two weeks left. Not surprisingly, people are already worried that the wait for The Last of Us Season 2 is going to be a long one but Pedro Pascal told Collider that production will begin in the next few months.
"In the year 2023? Oh, what season are we in now? We're getting into spring? Yes, there is a chance. Yes," Pascal said.
This is great news considering that people are loving The Last of Us and hoping that the series will be back soon after the first season concludes. For now, the Last of Us Season 2 release date has not yet been announced but fans are hoping that the show will return by early 2024.
In the meantime, it looks like Ellie will be facing trouble on her own next week. The preview for The Last of Us Episode 8 confirms that Bella Ramsey's character will encounter a new group whose leader is trying to convince her to join them. However, things might not turn out too well as Ellie is shown trying to defend herself without the help of Joel. Either way, we're hoping she manages to pull through.
Joel had been injured in the last few minutes of the sixth episode and The Last of Us Episode 7 focused on Ellie's backstory. There is a huge chance that Ellie will still be the main focus in next week's episode.
The Last of Us Episode 7 is now streaming on HBO Max. The eighth episode is titled When We Are In Need and will premiere on Sunday, March 5, 2023.
