The Last of Us Episode 7 is finally here and it brought us back to Ellie's life before she was captured by the Fireflies. Not surprisingly, Left Behind revealed that Ellie had a best friend when she was still with FEDRA and her friendship with Riley had tragic consequences.

In The Last of Us Episode 7, Joel regained consciousness and Ellie managed to drag him into an abandoned house. Although he insists that she should leave him and go back to Tommy, she refuses and tries to find something that would help with his stab wound. As Ellie goes through the house, she reminisces about her time at FEDRA military school.

It is revealed that Riley had run away from FEDRA, leaving Ellie to fend for herself against bullies. However, Riley returns one night and admits she has joined the Fireflies. She then takes Ellie to an abandoned mall where they try a photo booth, play a video game, and ride a carousel.

Unfortunately, the fun soon ends when Riley reveals that she has been assigned by the Fireflies to Atlanta and this would be her last night in Boston. Although Ellie is initially angry, she later convinces Riley to stay and they share a kiss.

The sweet moment is interrupted by the arrival of an Infected that attacks both girls. Ellie manages to kill it but not before both of them are bitten. Fearing the worst, they decide to stay together and wait until the infection takes hold.

Meanwhile, in the present, Ellie manages to find a sewing needle and begins sewing Joel's wound up.

The Last of Us Episode 7 is mostly a fun, lighthearted glimpse at Ellie's past and is based on the original game's DLC focusing on Ellie and Riley. It was also great to see Bella Ramsey and Storm Reid's adorable chemistry as the two girls.

The Last of Us Episode 7 is now streaming on HBO Max.
