YOASOBI’s Idol music video for Oshi no Ko has gotten 100 million views on YouTube. Soon after, an English version of Idol has been released as a treat for international Oshi no Ko fans.
The English version was announced via YOASOBI’s official social media accounts last week. And now, the special version of the song has been released on the duo's YouTube channel.
YOASOBI’s Idol Music Video Reaches Over 100 Million Views
Oshi no Ko became a trending topic back in April following its feature-length premiere. This is thanks to the first episode’s shocking turn of events.
Along with the story, the song Idol also drew a lot of attention for its catchiness. It also helped that a full music video starring Ai Hoshino was released shortly after the first episode’s release.
In just a day, the video got millions of views on YouTube. It also received a lot of plays on Spotify and other streaming platforms, enough that it topped the charts in Japan.
Until now, the song continues to be one of the most popular in Japan, as well as among anime fans internationally.
Currently, the music video has over 100 million views on YouTube, making it one of YOASOBI’s biggest hits.
In fact, it is currently YOASOBI’s fourth most-viewed video of all time – an impressive feat as it has only been a month since it was released.
With the anime continuing to be popular, it’s likely that we’ll see its views get even higher soon.

Oshi no Ko Opening Song Idol Gets an English Version
While even English-speaking fans still can’t get enough of the song, YOASOBI confirmed last week that an English version is in the works and will be released soon.
This isn’t the first time that YOASOBI released English versions of their songs. For instance, songs such as Monster for Beastars Season 2 also got an English-language version.
On the band’s official Twitter account, it was confirmed that the Oshi no Ko song Idol in English will be available on sale on May 26, 2023.

The English version will also be available in the upcoming Oshi no Ko single CD release, which is set to launch in Japan this June.
