Despite what happens to Ai Hoshino in Oshi no Ko, her daughter, Ruby Hoshino, still aspires to follow in her mother's footsteps. So, does Ruby become an idol in Oshi no Ko?

Does Ruby Hoshino Become an Idol?
After much disappointment, Ruby starts her career as an idol with Strawberry Productions, whose last client was her mother Ai Hoshino herself.
Before that, Ruby had tried to apply to other idol agencies, but the auditions always flopped.
Early on, we learn that this only happened because Aqua secretly sabotaged Ruby's attempts, wanting to protect her from the industry he's so angry at.
For now, Ruby doesn't know of her brother's plans, and she's happy enough to work with Strawberry.
It seems that Aqua is also content with this solution, as their foster parents' agency will at least take care of Ruby.
That being said, Ruby is a naïve newcomer to what has already been established as a violent, cutthroat industry.
As such, she's not immune to the harassment and limitations experienced by other members of the industry.
We expect that she has a long way to go before she can be established as an idol.
Given the manga's themes, we wouldn't be surprised if Ruby also became disillusioned with the idol industry by the end.
But as the Oshi no Ko manga is still ongoing, it'll be a while before we find out.

Is Ruby a Part of Aqua's Revenge?
While Ruby enters the entertainment industry out of genuine love for it, Aqua only does so to avenge Ai by finding and killing the person behind her murder. However, he keeps his twin out of his plans.
For much of the series, Ruby doesn't know that Goro, the doctor from her former life, and Aqua's reincarnation, has been murdered.
Moreover, her deep love for Ai makes her keep Ai's secret, never revealing who her mother was.
However, Ruby eventually finds out about Goro's death. Moreover, Aqua lets it spill that he and Ruby are Ai Hoshino's children.
Enraged at her brother for letting go of Ai's secret, Ruby goes through a dark character arc during which she renounces Aqua.

How Will the Truth Affect Ruby's Career?
Ruby will prove to be as smart (and as capable of revenge) as Aqua. Knowing the truth will make her put even more effort into her career advancement.
Her wish to avenge both Ai and Goro will lead her to throw herself into her idol career, both as a soloist and as part of a group.
