The first teaser for the One Piece live-action series is finally out and there is little doubt that everyone has seen the trailer by now. Interestingly, the cast of the upcoming series also saw it for the first time yesterday and the actors had strong feelings about the teaser.
Live-Action Straw Hats React To One Piece Teaser
The first teaser for the One Piece live-action series was dropped during TUDUM 2023, the global fan event for Netflix's projects. It was the first time that fans finally got to see some footage from the highly anticipated show and interestingly, it was the same case for the main cast.
The official Twitter account for the One Piece live-action show shared a new video showing Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar watching the teaser for the first time. As expected, the actors reacted strongly to the trailer.
Not surprisingly, Godoy was the one who had the most emotional reaction. The Monkey D. Luffy actor couldn't help but tear up as he watched himself on the screen. Luckily for Godoy, his castmates were there to comfort and support him.
There is little doubt that the cast members had bonded after spending several months together working on One Piece. This was made clear just before the live-action Straw Hats took the stage at TUDUM 2023 in Brazil.
Before stepping out, the actors huddled and put their feet up together. This was a recreation of the iconic moment when the Straw Hats Pirates performed a launching ceremony as they got ready to cross the Grand Line, taking a step towards their dreams.
One Piece will star Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Vinsmoke Sanji.
One Piece will premiere on Netflix on August 31, 2023.
