The title of One Piece Chapter 1095 is Better Off Dead In This World, and it features Buggy chasing a squirrel monkey that took his nose on the cover page.
St. Jaygarcia Saturn of the Gorosei landed on Egghead Island, throwing the marines into a panic. The rear admirals and captains stay behind while all the other soldiers retreat from the center.
Bonney stabs Saturn in the chest, angering the vice-admirals, who want to return the favor immediately. Saturn silences everyone, saying that he intentionally didn’t dodge Bonney’s attack.
Saturn grabs Bonney and pulls out the sword from his chest. Sanji comes to rescue Bonney, but Saturn’s aura knocks him out. Saturn’s stab wound disappears as well.
The Vice Admirals run to capture Dr. Vegapunk, but Saturn stops them, saying that there’s no need for haste since he has nowhere to run.
Saturn mocks Kizaru, who apologizes for not being able to move for a while, which the former completely understands.
Then, Saturn notices Luffy lying on the ground. He was about to stomp on Luffy when Franky intervened, grabbing Luffy out of the way with his strong right.
Seeing this, Saturn acknowledges that Luffy has a strong crew, to which Franky replies that even the world leaders are after his captain’s head.
Saturn remarks that Bonney and Luffy’s participation in the battle was unexpected; however, they are surrounded by marines on Egghead Island, which is on the brink of destruction.
If, by some twist of fate, Luffy and Bonney can escape, Saturn would like to see it. Saturn thanks Vegapunk for his contributions, but he also asks him which one of his peers will be the first to die in the most painful order.
Saturn reveals that they want Vegapunk to die in regret for having opposed the World Government.
He squeezes Bonney’s body and some kind of force is holding Sanji and the others down. Vegapunk assumes that it has to be Saturn’s devil fruit.
Bonney accuses Saturn of killing Kuma. Saturn says that Kuma was born a slave to a remnant of a tribe of people who committed a grave crime. He was also the lone survivor of the Buccaneer race!
Then Bonney was reminded of Kuma’s aspirations in life. He wanted to be a hero, just like the warrior of liberation, Nika, who would dance into action with a smile on his face.
As this happens, the Marines are preparing to aim for Bonney’s head, much to the horror of Sanji and Vegapunk.
A flashback from 47 years ago in the South Blue Sorbet Kingdom was then shown. Kuma was born from a normal human and a man with Buccaneer blood.
Later, Kuma and his father were captured to become slaves in Mary Geoise due to their superhuman strength, while Kuma’s mother passed away.
Kuma’s father asked him to keep enduring for one day; the warrior of liberation, the Sun God Nika, who’s always laughing, will come and save him.
He also revealed that the Sun God Nika moves in a rhythm and makes people laugh.
Another flashback from 38 years ago in West Blue was shown. The population eradication tournament was announced to be held in a non-world government-affiliated country called God Valley.
The King of God Valley condemned the decision, forcing St. Figarland Garling to kill him. He lost 10,000 points, but Figarling said that it should be a good handicap for the other contestants.
In addition to the natives, the participants were also asked to round up problematic slaves, including the young Kuma.
Before the chapter ends, a young Emporio Ivankov and his younger sister, Jinny, appear before a captured Kuma.
