After the action-packed events at Egghead Island, the first set of One Piece Chapter 1079 spoilers shifted its focus to Elbaf, giving us a look at the long-awaited fight between Shanks and Eustass Kid.
Shanks has shown how powerful he is before back when he crossed swords with Whitebeard and when he showed off his Haki prowess at the end of the Wano arc.
But now, Shanks is finally shown in a proper fight, and the results are a shocker.

One Piece Chapter 1079: Events at Egghead Island
Before the Shanks and Kid fight, the new chapter begins with York, one of the Punk clones who has been revealed to be the traitor in the last chapter’s ending. It also seems that York is keen on becoming a Celestial Dragon.
In the new chapter leaks, it was revealed that York found out about the World Government’s plans to betray her, so she decided to order the Seraphim to destroy the island and kill everyone except Vegapunk’s main body.
While we don’t know the extent of York’s plan, the chapter leaks also showed that a ship with the Blackbeard Pirates' flag is now near Egghead Island.
It’s not clear who is aboard this ship, but some fans believe that it’s Blackbeard who may have emerged victorious against Trafalgar Law.
However, others think that the one aboard is Aokiji, the former Marine admiral.
This makes sense given that the current events are similar to what happened at Ohara, so Aokiji being there is fitting.

Shanks vs. Kid in Elbaf
The highlight of the new chapter is no doubt Shanks and Kid’s fight. While some fans were afraid that this fight will happen off-screen, the leaks reveal that it will actually be shown.
Based on the spoilers, Shanks imbues his sword with Haki and uses it against Kid. Despite Kid’s newfound power after Wano, he is still defeated by Shanks.
Along with this, Dory and Brogy destroy Kid’s ship while his crew delivers copies of the Poneglyph to the Red Hair Pirates.
The chapter ends with the words “The Kid Pirates are Exterminated,” meaning they have been utterly defeated by Shanks and his crew.
This is a huge turn of events as it finally sees Shanks and his crew take an active role, albeit at the cost of the Kid Pirates. It’ll be interesting to see if Kid and his crew will join Shanks moving forward.
Of course, these spoilers are unconfirmed, so they may not be entirely accurate.
