VTubers continue to be popular among anime fans, enough that new anime shows are including elements of it. Now, a well-known Nijisanji VTuber was announced to be the opening singer of the upcoming Classroom for Heroes anime.
Recently, details about the new Classroom for Heroes anime were revealed, including its theme song performers and its premiere date.
While the anime isn’t about VTubers, it’s interesting to see that the production tapped one of the OG Nijisanji VTubers for its theme song. This shows how popular VTubers continue to be.
Rising Popularity of VTubers and Anime Collabs
Even for those who don’t actively watch Virtual YouTuber streams, anime fans would’ve likely seen or heard of VTubers at one point. This is because many VTubers are tapped to promote the latest anime and games from Japan.
Aside from doing promotional work for upcoming titles, the VTubing industry has also been put in the spotlight in several manga titles.
For instance, Oshi no Ko features a side character who is a VTuber and cosplayer.
Recently, a manga about these streamers titled VTuber Legend was even announced to get an anime adaptation.
The popularity of these virtual content creators rose sharply in 2020 due to various lockdown restrictions throughout the world.
With many people stuck at home for long periods, interest in online content and creators saw a big rise.
While VTubers have been around even before 2020, the circumstances of that year were the main causes of the industry going viral. Leading the way are agencies such as Hololive and Nijisanji.

Nijisanji VTuber to Sing Classroom for Heroes Anime Opening
Nijisanji VTuber Higuchi Kaede was announced to be the opening song performer of Classroom for Heroes.
While not all fans of Nijisanji may be familiar with Kaede (especially for those who watch the EN streamers), she is one of the agency’s veterans, having debuted way back in 2018 as part of the company’s first generation.
Also revealed was a new trailer that showed more clips from the anime. It also revealed that singer Akane Kumada will perform the show’s ending theme.
Classroom for Heroes is an upcoming anime based on the light novel series of the same name. The anime is being made by Actas, the studio behind Girls und Panzer.
This upcoming anime will be released in July 2023, and it is expected to premiere in the first or second week of that month.
However, there’s no word yet on a specific release date or a streaming release outside Japan.
