A newly surfaced concept artwork from The Mandalorian & Grogu suggests that it will feature a major flashback on the planet Mandalore.
Filming is currently underway for the upcoming Star Wars movie which will bring Din Djarin and Grogu's next adventure in the galaxy far, far away to the big screen for the first time.
So far, the majority of the plot details regarding the film are still being kept under wraps, but it is expected to bring back a fan-favorite character from Rebels and also features Sigourney Weaver in a mysterious role.
The Mandalorian & Grogu Concept Art Hints at Mandalore Flashback
A concept art from artist Melany Maximus for The Mandalorian & Grogu recently found its way into the film's IMDb page, giving fans their first look at one of its key moments.
The artwork showed a Mandalorian standing in a fertile environment with a waterfall that is seemingly set in Mandalore.
This suggests that the film might have a major flashback sequence that is set in Mandalore similar to the third season.
So far, Lucasfilm has not commented on the concept art's existence on the IMDb page.
While the new concept art reveal didn't necessarily spoil the plot details of the film, it is a clue on what we can expect in its story and the flashbacks that they will explore.
Considering Mandalore's major part in the show's mythology, it's not really surprising that the film will explore it as well and perhaps they will double down on its origins as part of Din Djarin's journey in the big screen adventure.
The Mandalorian & Grogu is slated for release in theaters on May 22, 2026.
