We're still waiting for Spider-Man: Across the Universe and Chris Miller just gave fans a treat to keep them hyped up for the film. The producer of the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel has just shared a new poster teasing the epic showdown between Miles Morales and Oscar Isaac's Spider-Man 2099!
Chris Miller shared the new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse poster on his official Twitter account. It shows Miles Morales and Miguel O'Hara in action and at this point, it is unclear who is winning. Still, it makes for a stunning image. Check it out below.
We already got a glimpse at the fight between Miles and Miguel in the first teaser for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. In the footage, Miles ends up in Spider-Man 2099's universe and is immediately pursued by Miguel who may have viewed him as a threat.
There is little doubt that the encounter will be action-packed but we're also hoping that the confusion is straightened out in the end. After all, we don't like the idea of Miguel O'Hara being the bad guy now that he's getting more screen time.
Spider-Man 2099's backstory in Across the Spider-Verse was previously revealed and it confirmed that the sequel will not stray away from the comic books. Miguel O'Hara is confirmed to have "tried to manipulate the genetics of former Spider-people and accidentally turned himself into the best Spider-Man in the Multiverse!"
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson while Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham collaborated on the screenplay. The sequel will feature the voices of Shameik Moore, Oscar Isaac, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Vélez, Issa Rae, and Jason Schwartzman.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is scheduled for release on June 2, 2023.
