After years of hiatus, the hit anthology series Black Mirror will finally return in just a couple of weeks and a lot of fans are looking forward to seeing more of the trippy stories that creator Charlie Brooker and his team have in store for the new edition.

For the past few weeks, they've been releasing several teasers on what's about to come in the upcoming season and now we finally know when it will exactly arrive as well as another extended look at the five new episodes.

The Trailer and Release Date for Black Mirror Season 6 Are Here

Netflix has released the official trailer for the sixth season of Black Mirror which they declared as its "most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected season yet." They also revealed that the new installment will arrive on June 15.

The new preview gave us an extended look at each episode of the new season which seemingly still has the classic Black Mirror vibe that we have accustomed to although they also pointed out that one of them will have a dose of "red."

It also looks like one of the episodes will take a jab at Netflix itself as hinted by the very familiar look of the Streamberry streaming service which will feature a TV series starring Salma Hayek that is based on the character played by Annie Murphy.

Speaking with Tudum regarding the new season, Brooker promised that the new season will be surprising to the viewers and will reinvent the series that we have known and been accustomed to for years.

"I’ve always felt that Black Mirror should feature stories that are entirely distinct from one another, and keep surprising people — and myself — or else what’s the point? It should be a series that can’t be easily defined, and can keep reinventing itself," he said.

The showrunner also teased that the new season will not be exactly as what we're going to expect which is also the whole point of what he's trying to do in this new installment.

"Partly as a challenge, and partly to keep things fresh for both me and the viewer, I began this season by deliberately upending some of my own core assumptions about what to expect," Brooker said.

"Consequently, this time, alongside some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes we’ve also got a few new elements, including some I’ve previously sworn blind the show would never do, to stretch the parameters of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ even is."

He further teased, "The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through — but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before."
