Mike Flanagan has been successful in releasing horror thrillers on Netflix and his new TV series, The Midnight Club, just scored a new Guinness World Record for "most scripted jump scares in a single television episode," making it more exciting to watch.

During the panel of The Midnight Club at the New York Comic Con, Mike Flanagan received a new Guinness World Record for "most scripted jump scares in a single television episode" having 21 jump scares in one episode as reported by Variety.

Making it to the Guinness Book of World Records isn't an easy feat but Mike Flanagan, in a press conference earlier that day, claimed that it is ironic considering he has been asked to add more jump scares, "My whole career, people have been like, 'Put more jump scares in, and do them faster!'"

Flanagan revealed that he didn't really like jump scares which adds to the irony of receiving the accolade, "This is particularly important to me because I hate jump scares and I think they are the worst."

The Midnight Club is a horror mystery-thriller series of Mike Flanagan with Leah Fong as the showrunner and executive producer which is based on the novel of the same name written by Christopher Pike in 1994.
