Midnight Mass Creator Mike Flanagan Wants To Direct A Star Wars Horror Movie

There is little doubt that Mike Flanagan is a force to reckon with when it comes to horror projects. After all, he's the brilliant mind behind The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass. However, it looks like Flanagan has his eye on an interesting project. The Hush director has just revealed that he wants to work on a Star Wars movie with a terrifying twist.

Flanagan is undoubtedly working on something new and scary at any given time. The Doctor Sleep director has consistently been coming up with amazing ideas that are guaranteed to terrify people. Interestingly, his latest idea might be the greatest one yet.

"Got woken up by the earthquake this morning, sat there for a few minutes just thinking 'I'd really love to make a horror movie in the STAR WARS universe...'" Flanagan tweeted.

The Gerald's Game director didn't exactly share what his plan is going to be but we're already excited about the idea. If there is ever a Star Wars horror movie ever made, there is little doubt that Flanagan is the best candidate to direct it. Hopefully, Lucasfilm and Disney are paying attention and set up a meeting with the Oculus director soon.

For now, it doesn't look like Flanagan will immediately work on his planned Star Wars horror movie. However, that doesn't mean that the Haunting of Bly Manor creator is simply sitting idle. Flanagan is currently working on The Midnight Club, an adaptation of Christopher Pike's YA novel.

The most exciting new project for Flanagan is the new Netflix series that will adapt Edgar Allan Poe's horror classic The Fall of The House of Usher. The show is expected to consist of eight episodes and Flanagan will direct half of the episodes. The rest will be helmed by Flanagan's longtime cinematographer Michael Fimognari.
