Michael Weatherly got fans swooning over a possible Tony (Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo) reunion in NCIS this year. So, will it happen?

Weatherly excited fans when he made the tease in a Twitter post on New Year’s Day. He posted a reflective idea about the year that ended and the year ahead, but some fans wished to see Tony and Ziva reuniting in 2023 instead.

Michael Weatherly Answers Fans’ Wish

The actor replied to a fan’s wish that was left in his post’s comment section, saying, “We all would rather look at you and Ziva reuniting and enjoying that moment.”

He retweeted the comment and said, “Stay tuned… for this might be an interesting year for such ‘moments!’”

As expected, it garnered fans’ attention, with the singer Mitch Lafon himself saying, “Good! Bring it on!”

Others asked him not to tease them like that as they had been waiting so long for that to happen.

Michael Weatherly’s Last NCIS Appearance

Weatherly has last seen in NCIS Season 13 finale in 2016. At the time, he followed his heart and brain to stage his exit.

After hearing about the bombing of the David family farmhouse in Israel, he quickly went to the airport, but Abby (Pauley Perrette) and McGee (Sean Murray) stopped him and told him that Ziva had died in the said attack.

His wrath was controlled by being introduced to Ziva’s daughter, Tali. From there, Tony told Gibbs (Mark Harmon) his decision to leave the team and take care of Tali, starting his new life with a trip to Israel and visiting Paris, which Ziva loved, hinting at the claims that the latter is still alive.

The Possible Reappearance of Ziva and Tony

Ziva reappeared in NCIS Season 17, confirming she was alive and promising he would contact her daughter’s father.

At the time, Weatherly was already busy with his new show, Bull. However, he told TVLine that he missed that “specific camaraderie” in NCIS.

“I miss the people and smiles, the laughter…. But I felt very satiated by my experience at NCIS,” he continued. “As I said to you last time, it was a full circle, and I felt ready to move on.”
