My Hero Academia: Two Heroes is finally available to stream on Crunchyroll in selected territories, giving fans an easier time to watch the first movie in the franchise.

The film’s release follows the announcement of the fourth My Hero Academia film earlier this year.

With this release, it’s possible that the other two films in the franchise will be released on Crunchyroll in the future.

Previously, fans had to buy the Blu-ray or DVD version of the film to watch it legally in most Western countries; not the most economical option for more casual fans.

As with most big shonen franchises, My Hero Academia got the movie treatment in 2018 with Two Heroes, an anime film by Bones that was released in Japan in August of that year.

Thanks to the series’ popularity in North America, Two Heroes got a theatrical release in the US and Canada from late September to early October.

Many recent shonen film releases such as Jujutsu Kaisen 0 are canon, and My Hero Academia’s first movie is also considered part of the manga’s canon.

But because of its original story, the events aren’t brought up in the series.

For reference, films in the Dragon Ball and One Piece franchises are a bit more debatable. For instance, some fans are still debating about the canon status of films like One Piece Red.

Despite not exactly being canon, Two Heroes was still considered a must-watch for fans of the series. Though it was quite difficult to watch it in the US without having to buy the Blu-ray.

Finally, Crunchyroll released the film on its platform, giving subscribers a more convenient way to watch (or rewatch) the movie.

My Hero Academia: Two Heroes was released on Crunchyroll yesterday, August 17, though it is not currently available worldwide.

Specifically, the movie is available to stream on Crunchyroll in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the Nordics, and the Caribbean.

Sadly, fans in other parts of Europe along with LATAM won’t have access to the film on Crunchyroll.

Still, this is good news for fans living in the listed regions. But here’s hoping that the two other movies get released online ahead of the fourth movie’s premiere.

My Hero Academia Movie 4 has no release date yet, but fans can at least look forward to both that film and the confirmed seventh season which is currently in the works.
