It has been over a month now since the end of Season 6, and finally, My Hero Academia confirmed that Season 7 is in production.

The announcement was made via the show’s official Twitter account, which revealed that the seventh season has been decided.

This reveal came with a special illustration of Deku along with the words “7th Season Coming.”

While the anime has been renewed for another season, fans will likely have to wait a while before it gets released.

Previously, new My Hero Academia seasons have been announced right after the end of the current season. This was the case with Season 6, which was announced with a special video after the fifth season’s finale episode.

Interestingly, Season 7 wasn’t announced right after the sixth season’s end, prompting fans to speculate if there will be a longer gap between seasons six and seven.

Now though, the anime is confirmed to be in the works, but given how the announcement was worded, it will likely be a while before we get more info.

Usually, when an anime is announced as “decided”, it means the show is still in the early stages of production.

Of course, My Hero Academia is far from a new show, but it will likely take months to maybe a year before the next season.

This is supported by the fact that there is no new footage from Season 7 yet.

Instead, there’s an uncolored illustration of Deku in his vigilante outfit.

The first three My Hero Academia seasons were released in April from 2016 to 2018. Though starting with Season 4, the release schedule was adjusted.

Since then, each season was released with a one-year gap between them. Because of this, Season 7 will likely premiere one year after the sixth season.

If that is the case, My Hero Academia Season 7 may be released in April 2024 at the earliest.

Of course, that does not count for any potential delays from studio Bones.

While it’s a safe bet that the next season will air in 2024, it might premiere in April in the best-case scenario.

But if the studio takes a bit more time, fans might have to wait until Summer or Fall 2024.

Though what’s safe to assume is that My Hero Academia’s seventh season will be released on Crunchyroll considering that all other seasons got Crunchyroll simulcasts in the US.
