Here’s What Happened Before My Hero Academia Chapter 396
The title of My Hero Academia Chapter 395 is Beyond Happiness. The chapter starts off with the disappearance of the clones (doubles) after Himiko Toga runs out of Twice’s blood inside her body.
It was for the best, especially for the wounded Todoroki Family, Iida, and Hawks, who were all so close to being stabbed to death.
Hawks addresses Himiko, saying how much of a good guy Bubaigawara really was, which made Himiko shed tears.
Himiko says that her knife allows her to become the people she loves, but she filled it with anger and hatred to create a world that’s easier to live in.
She stares at the horizon while she stands naked before a severely wounded Ochako.
All of a sudden, Himiko felt the strain of using Transform to access other people’s quirks. She is in pain, but she is more than impressed with Ochako, who is lying on the ground.
Ochako propagated her zero-gravity quirk all across the battlefield to make sure that all the heroes had safe landings.
In simple terms, Ochako didn’t stop using her zero-gravity quirk until she knew that everyone would be okay. She refused to drop anyone, no matter what happened to her body.
As a result, Ochako lost too much blood and the ability to move. She also felt like her brain was disconnected from her body.
Ochako tries to get up, but her body won’t listen to her anymore. Himiko told Ochako that she lost too much blood, yet she kept on moving even after she was stabbed.
Moreover, Himiko points out that the League of Villains wants to destroy everything in order to create a new world in its place. A world where it would be much easier for her to keep on living.
That’s when Himiko drinks some of Ochako’s blood to transform. She also began transfusing her own blood to Himiko.
She continues talking, saying how Ochako’s words made her really happy, even though she said it was a battle for survival.
But most importantly, Himiko can’t stand the thought of losing Ochako like this. That’s why Himiko decided to give Ochako all of her blood. Ochako feels warm, but she still tries her hardest to stop Himiko from doing so.
Regardless, Himiko reveals that Twice also did the same thing to her when she was on the brink of death.
Since Twice and his quirk are gone now, Himiko became him. When Himiko becomes someone she loves, she can use their quirk, but her blood also becomes their blood.
Himiko closed Ochako’s wound, and she began talking about the possibility of Ochako capturing or killing her like a hero should’ve done. But instead, Ochako was concerned about her, even though she didn’t need to be.
Himiko starts crying as the guilt of stabbing Ochako and her friends hits her. She also tells Ochako that she is weird, which the latter refutes.
Himiko says that she’ll live her life the way she wants it to. She also apologizes for all the things she has done to Ochako and her friends.
Furthermore, Himiko acknowledges Ochako for not pretending that everything was fine, unlike her.
Himiko shares that Dabi burned down her childhood home, and she pretended it had never existed.
It made Himiko happy, but that place was still inside her heart. Himiko told Ochako that she was glad she reached out to her. Because of this, it made her heart feel so much lighter.
She thanks Ochako for all of her efforts and for making her happy. Ochako desperately calls out Himiko’s name, to which Himiko responds that it is her by her side.
Once again, Himiko monologues, narrating about her past actions. She wanted to become so many people, which is why she drank blood from the people she envied and the ones she loved the most.
Himiko wonders what would have happened if she had found love sooner.
The kind of love that made her want to give blood rather than drink other people’s blood If she had met someone who could love like that, it would have been much easier for her to live in this world.
Despite this, Himiko feels that she lived exactly how she wanted to. She also believes that she has the cutest smile in the world for a normal girl like her.
Before the chapter ends, we can see Himiko hugging Ochako as they lie together on the ground.
