In an unexpected turn of events, former villains such as La Brava and Gentle stepped forward to assist the heroes in their fight against AFO Shigaraki. Here’s What Happened Before My Hero Academia Chapter 379
At Task Force Headquarters, the investigation team is busy with the malfunction of the evacuation system, the signal interference, as well as the backup request from Gunga.
On the sidelines, La Brava recalls a time when she wormed her way into Feel Good Inc.'s server, hacking into its system and replacing advertisements with Optic Kitty.
She also comments on Skeptic’s wildly long code functions as well as his crazy scope of variables, which goes to say that his coding habits haven’t changed since the first time they encountered each other.
La Brava also takes advantage of the stunned and enraged Skeptic and proceeds to show him the "Da Pump Dance" on the poor villain's screen.
Not only that, but La Brava begins to take over Skeptic's systems, while the latter decides to flee with UA's Evacuation System after learning that the heroes have already pinpointed his location.
At the time, the UA Fortress is losing altitude and hurtling toward the ground with no signs of stopping.
Despite the fact that there isn't much time, La Brava attempts to code a brand-new program so that the surviving section of the system can keep the joint afloat.
One officer has given up hope and regrets leaving the final key line of defense to a convicted villain in custody, whereas Naomasa believes that villains like La Brava are not a lost cause despite having committed crimes in the past.
Back on the falling UA Fortress, Deku and Shigaraki AFO lock eyes, while Shigaraki's words about what makes him a villain ring in Deku's ears.
Meanwhile, Mandalay orders his team to prepare for a crash landing and to fight.
That's when Kaminari and Fukidashi notice a swarm of Twice's clones battling Eraserhead and Monoma.
On the other hand, the American soldiers try to assist the heroes, but Ethan Drive and the X-66 Squadron are powerless to intervene because firing their lasers at the villains may also target their allies.
All of a sudden, Ethan Drive sees Gentle in the airspace.
Outside the villains’ secret hideout, Skeptic found himself in trouble after the heroes, including Hound Dog and some of the students of the Ketsubutsu Academy High School, were given a heads-up of his location since they were around the area.
Back at UA, Naomasa and La Brava gave their support to Gentle to assist Deku.
After the attack on Tartarus, the villains' living quarters at Mikuzu Prison were busted wide open about a month and a half ago, with Muscular telling everyone that they're all free to go now.
Muscular also told the villains to live their lives as they saw fit and to have fun. While the villains plan their escape, a nervous and trembling Gentle steps in to prevent them from doing so.
After all, Gentle recalls his mistakes in the past, when he rushed headlong down the wrong path without the courage to stop himself.
He also recalls Gori's remark that the only people who claim they can't change their lives are those who have no genuine desire to change.
Most importantly, Gentle recalls Deku's bold declaration that he will be the one to show villains and heroes alike a bright future.
As a result, Gentle is able to confront the prisoners head-on, making Mikuzu the only prison raided without any escapees.
Afterward, Gori appeared before Gentle and asked what he wanted, to which he replied that he wanted to see La Brava and be of service to others.
Back in the present, Gentle, who is now empowered with La Brava's Lover Mode, uses his quirk like an air trampoline to keep the UA Fortress from collapsing!
Upon hearing all of this, Deku realizes that Gentle appeared just to help everyone out.
However, Daigoro Banjo warns Deku about AFO Shigaraki, who has begun to move again.
Even if the fortress avoided the crash, Gentle's efforts will be in vain the moment Shigaraki touches the ground.
But, before Shigaraki can touch the ground, a speeding bullet shoots Shigaraki AFO's hand, much to Deku's surprise.
Elsewhere, Naomasa mentions that no matter how the villains have fallen, each one of them is still a human being.
Hence, it is up to the heroes to absolutely recognize that about them.
Using a phrase from a friend, Naomasa says that they will find their starting point—their origin—deep within each of their hearts.
Before the chapter ends, a recuperating Lady Nagant, armed with her rifle, joins the battle.
