Miyo Saimori and Kiyoka Kudou's relationship is straight out of a fairytale in My Happy Marriage. Miyo is a damsel in distress, while Kiyoka is a prince who’s ready to come to her aid. Their relationship as a betrothed couple has only just begun, but will there be a My Happy Marriage Season 2?
My Happy Marriage Season 1 ran for a total of 12 episodes, which cover the events of light novel volumes 1 and 2 of the series. It is still ongoing, having released seven light novels and four manga volumes!

Will There Be a My Happy Marriage Season 2?
Yes, My Happy Marriage Season 2 has been greenlit for production shortly after the completion of its first season.
It has received a positive reception not only in Japan but also among international fans, especially when the series’ anime adaptation aired on Netflix.
In general, My Happy Marriage is a successful series to the extent that it has inspired a manga adaptation, a stage play, and even a live-action film. If this doesn’t spell out success, then we don’t know what does.
Kinema Citrus also did a good job animating My Happy Marriage, as fans continue to shower the show with compliments about its fluid and gorgeous animation.
The anime’s voice actors also did a good job portraying their characters, particularly their expressions and emotions.
As a result, My Happy Marriage garnered high ratings on IMDB (8.3/10), MAL (8.31/10), and even on LiveChart (8.2/10) as of writing.
This only means that My Happy Marriage was successful enough to capture the hearts of its viewers.
With a total of 12 episodes, My Happy Marriage has finished telling the story of Miyo’s miserable life in the Saimori household, where she was bullied and discriminated against by her own father, stepmother, and half-sister.
The first season also introduced us to Kiyoka, the head of the Kudou household and the commander of the Special Anti-Grotesquerie Unit, who took Miyo in as his new fiancée.
From here on, the anime explored Miyo and Kiyoka’s relationship as they got past their awkward beginning.
The anime also showed the downfall of the Saimori household, Miyo’s supernatural ability brought upon by her dreams and Usuba descent, and the threat caused by the breaking of the seal of the grave.
When Will My Happy Marriage Season 2 Be Released?
Unfortunately, we can only assume when My Happy Marriage Season 2 will be released since the exact date hasn’t been confirmed yet by its creators.
On the bright side, we are expecting a release date within Spring or Summer 2024, similar to other romance anime that have been renewed for a second season.
But given the number of anime that have been delayed so far, the release date of My Happy Marriage Season 2 can also be pushed back to the fall of 2024.
That is if Kinema Citrus has a lot of shows and/or movies to work on in the prior anime seasons.
Before the release of the second season, the Blu-ray and DVD volumes of My Happy Marriage are reported to arrive in March 2024.

What to Expect From My Happy Marriage Season 2
My Happy Marriage Season 1 covers light novel volumes 1 and 2 of the series. If a second season gets confirmed, viewers can expect to see volumes 3 and 4 (possibly 5) get adapted into anime, depending on the anime’s pacing.
In My Happy Marriage light novel volume 3, Miyo will finally be able to meet her future in-laws.
However, Miyo will get into trouble as Kiyoka’s mother, Fuyu, is adamant about not accepting her as her son’s bride.
It is up to Miyo to bridge the gap between them, even if it means enduring all of Fuyu’s abuse, whereas Kiyoka has his attention on a dangerous fiend that stalks the night.
Meanwhile, in light novel volume 4, Naoshi Usui, Miyo’s self-proclaimed father, targets the betrothed couple on their way home from the Kudou villa.
Kiyoka has to make drastic efforts to protect Miyo by assigning her a female bodyguard, who was also his previous marriage candidate!
