It has been over a year now since the first season ended, and finally, Mushoku Tensei Season 2 has a new trailer that reveals its July release date. Though it was also confirmed that the show’s second season will feature several new staff members.

The anime’s new trailer was revealed at AnimeJapan 2023 over the weekend, becoming one of the event’s highlight announcements alongside the likes of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 and Spy x Family’s anime film.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation's first season was split into two parts, with the first 11 episodes airing in the Winter 21 season.

After two seasons, the second half, featuring the next 12 episodes, aired beginning October 2021.

Even though there was a fairly long gap between the two cours, these two parts are still considered the anime’s first season.

Earlier in 2022, it was revealed that the series has been renewed for a second season.

It may have taken a while, but we finally have the first proper trailer for Season 2 which you can watch here:

Based on the new trailer, the second season will feature a shift in tone for the series as it follows the protagonist, Rudeus, as he is now a bit older than when we last saw him in the first season.

Given this new phase of the series, Mushoku Tensei Season 2 will feature lots of new characters. And while the complete cast list has yet to be revealed, the trailer confirmed that Yumi Uchiyama will return to voice Rudeus.

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Replaces Director and Other Staff Members

Along with Uchiyama, other cast members will also return in the next season, at least for the previous characters that will make an appearance. Though the same can’t be said for the staff members.

It was revealed that several staff members have been replaced. These include Hiroki Hirano, the first season’s assistant director, who will replace Manabu Okamoto as the second season’s director.

Other new staff members include script supervisor Toshiya Ono (also replacing Okamoto) as well as Sane Shimada, who is the new character designer.

Following the new staff members’ reveal, some fans were slightly worried about how this will affect the anime.

But for the most part, fans of the series aren’t concerned as this is not unusual for new anime seasons.

It also helps that the entire staff hasn’t been replaced as there are some returning members.

These include art director Masakazu Miyake and color key artist Makiko Doi, among others. Plus, the series will still be made by Studio Bind.

Mushoku Tensei Season 2 will premiere in July 2023 on Japanese TV networks.

Each episode will also stream soon after their Japanese release on Crunchyroll internationally.
