While the anime series is getting a new season, Kadokawa recently announced that the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation light novel series’ main story will end in Volume 26.
The series' ending was revealed in a listing on the Kadokawa website which states that the series will end in Volume 26, which is the next volume.
Specifically, the series’ ending was revealed in a Kadokawa website listing for the upcoming Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Special Book. Based on the website, the special book will be released to mark the main story’s upcoming ending.
The book will feature the series’ history, along with short stories that have not been published or were specially made for the book. It will also include lengthy interviews with the series’ author and illustrator.
On the website, it’s said that the next volume will finally complete the main story. This might mean the story of Mushoku Tensei will continue, but possibly with a spin-off story.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation (Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu in Japanese) is an isekai light novel series written by Rifujin na Magonote. It began as a web novel that began in November 2012. It was then picked up by MF Books and published as a light novel series in July 2014.
The series also proved popular enough to get a manga series that is serialized in Monthly Comic Flapper.
In 2021, the series received an anime adaptation by Studio Bind that ran for 23 episodes. A second season is also confirmed, and it is set to release soon.
As for its story, the series follows a 34-year-old shut-in who is kicked out of his home by his family. He then gets into a tragic accident, but instead of passing, he is reincarnated into another world as Rudeus Greyrat.
While other isekai anime shows begin with the protagonist being reincarnated as themselves, the series’ protagonist starts his new life as a baby, though he retains his memories and knowledge from his previous life.
Thus, his new life begins in a new magical world where he can develop his newfound magical abilities.
The Mushoku Tensei light novel series is set to end at an unspecified date, though the anime and the manga will continue.
