Kamala has always been looking for answers about her lineage when she got her powers and she learned about the bangle belonging to her great-grandmother, Aisha, who disappeared the night when the last train left during the Partition. Now, Ms. Marvel Episode 5 reveals what happened to her and whether the rumors about her are true.
Ms. Marvel Episode 5 Reveals Why Aisha Disappeared
Throughout the series, Kamala has been looking for answers about her powers which were activated when she wore a bangle that her grandmother, Sana, passed onto her. She learned that the bangle used to belong to her great-grandmother, Aisha, but when she asked around their community about her, she heard nothing good, especially from the Illumi-aunties.
Rumors about Aisha were so grave that their family name was tarnished because of her – that she was a snake, she had another family, and that she even killed a man. Even Kamala’s mother had to run away half across the world to escape the disgrace that Aisha gave to their family. However, the truth about Aisha is finally revealed in Ms. Marvel Episode 5.
Yes, the rumors are true, Aisha did kill a man, a soldier who was chasing her in the woods. She threw a knife straight to his chest in hopes of escaping. Aisha did have another family, the Clandestines and her ancestors in the Noor dimension, but the others didn’t know that she came from another world. But of all, she wasn’t a snake.

When Aisha met Hasan, she never thought she’d find a new home full of love and affection. With their child, Sana, Aisha was happy to the point that it’s enough for her to stay and abandon the world that imprisoned her on Earth. However, the other Clandestines remain fixated on their goal of going home.
When Najma found Aisha, Najma immediately demanded for the bangle but Aisha still tried to keep it away from them and saved her family just in time. She bought time and the cost was her life as Najma stabbed her and left her bleeding to death when the bangle was not with Aisha. She called upon her powers to summon Kamala from the future and get Sana and the bangle to safety.
Aisha disappeared not because she wanted to leave her family, instead, it is the opposite of it. She disappeared because she died trying to save the people she cared about the most – Hasan and Sana. She left the bangle to Sana to keep her safe and it worked, the story goes on a full circle as it turns out, Kamala has always been part of the story through her time travel.
