We're still waiting for Morbius but it looks like Jared Leto already knows what will be happening to the Living Vampire in the future. The Academy Award winner has just teased on a possible crossover with Mahershala Ali's Blade.
Leto was recently a guest on The Late Late Show with James Corden to promote his new film The Little Things. However, the Blade Runner 2049 actor was happy to discuss Morbius with the host.
"I actually almost play a vampire in a new film I have coming out called Morbius. He's a Marvel character, and they call him a 'living' vampire, so he's not really a vampire but he's kind of a super-something," Leto said. "So that's a lot of fun."
Interestingly, Leto was asked if there was any chance that Michael Morbius will cross paths with some major comic book enemies, like say, a vampire hunter named Blade. Leto was understandably enthusiastic about the possibility.
"That is a good question, and I could see that happening in the future. I could see that happening, yeah," he said.
We're loving that idea because a comic book movie featuring two Oscar winners sounds fun and impressive. However, it might not happen soon considering that Morbius is a Sony property while the Blade reboot will be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although it isn't happening right away, a Morbius/Blade crossover is not impossible. After all, Sony and Marvel Studios have already worked out a way for Spider-Man to appear in the MCU so the studios could once again make a deal for this project. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
