Kaiju have dominated Hollywood for years and as the MonsterVerse continues to expand, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is set to bring back the beloved colossus to the small screen via Apple TV+.

Here is everything you need to know about Monarch: Legacy of Monsters' age rating guide. Is the series suitable for your kids to watch? Find out here.

What is the Age Rating Guide for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters?

Based on the official trailer of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters alone, the Apple TV+ series is bound to deliver a great new addition to the MonsterVerse roster and canon timeline.

Pretty similar to how the previous Toho movies about the Titan Godzilla along with King Kong and more of the classic Kaiju, the Monarch tells the story of how the monsters rampaged about on Earth, which includes more monsters apart from Godzilla and Kong.

In the story, we follow the two main siblings who end up following their father's footsteps to discover their connection to the secret organization called the Monarch.

Now, since this is a monster chasing and hunting series, we're undoubtedly getting mature content that may be upsetting or inappropriate for young viewers to watch.

The age rating for the Apple TV+ series is rated TV-Y, which indicates that, despite how violent and explosive the show might be, it is suitable for all children.

However, no matter how safely rated a TV show or movie is, there is no harm in parents engaging and supervising their children when watching the series, just in case there are any elements in the story that may have not been covered in previewing for its age rating guide.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters may be a fictional story, but it would be highly dependent on every household and just how comfortable their children would be in seeing the show on their own.

Do take note that the series potentially involves frightening or jump-scare scenes, as far as Kaiju or MonsterVerse films and shows go, so parental discretion is still advised at home.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Producer's Advice To Viewers

It is worth mentioning that Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is targeting to bring back the nostalgia for the classic Kaiju back on the small screens, so viewers expecting a new Kaiju battle every week, will be very much disappointed.

According to the show's co-executive producer Matt Fraction on Entertainment Weekly:

"What we set out to do was to make a show set in the MonsterVerse that wasn't focused on the monsters. We felt we couldn't compete with the feature films and we shouldn't try. To build a television series, you have to create a cast of characters, a set of people that you want to follow week to week, and if we're lucky, multiple seasons. This is a show about people who have woken up and live in a world where monsters are real."

Overall, this is turning out to be suitable for kids of all ages to watch. Something to add to their childhood about the historical Kaiju pop culture.
