Ming-Na Wen made her Star Wars debut as Fennec Shand during the first season of The Mandalorian. Due to the character's ambiguous fate, fans initially thought that it was a one-off appearance before it was revealed in the second season that she survived.

Since then, the actress has become a staple in the franchise as she ended up becoming a series regular in The Book of Boba Fett and had a recurring voice role in The Bad Batch.

However, she was notably absent during the third season of The Mandalorian which made some fans disappointed as they wanted to see more of her in the galaxy far, far away after the events of The Book of Boba Fett.

In an interview with The Movie Dweeb (via Screen Rant), Wen shared her thoughts regarding her absence in the third season of The Mandalorian.

While she was initially disappointed about not appearing in the show's recent season, she also acknowledged that it was simply a creative decision from Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni on the storytelling that they were planning.

"Sometimes when you take something out of context, it sounds worse than it is. I think we love our characters so much, that any time we can reprise and be that character - especially someone like me, right, Fennec Shand is my dream role - so of course you're gonna feel disappointed," she said.

"Like, 'Why didn't they have me put on my outfit and get into the battle with everyone?' So I think that's sort of the disappointment, but at the same time we both totally understand and respect Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni's process and what they need to do in their storytelling."

The actress concluded, "So it's just - yeah, we're greedy. I know I am, I would love to be in every single Star Wars project at this point from now on!"

Wen's initial disappointment was very much understandable, especially since she appeared during the first two seasons and it really would have been awesome to see her do more action-packed sequences alongside Din Djarin.

However, considering the direction that the third season went, you can also definitely tell why Fennec Shand and, to some extent, Boba Fett did not appear in the third season as there was really no room to include them.

Hopefully, we will see Wen's character again in the fourth season, which is currently being delayed, or in the other live-action shows that are also currently in the works.
