As hard as it is to admit, the MandoVerse has been having a hard time connecting with Star Wars fans over the last couple of years, with shows like The Book of Boba Fett and the recently concluded The Mandalorian Season 3 both failing to meet expectations.

While both shows still delivered in terms of action and fan service, it can't be denied that they pale in comparison to what the second season of The Mandalorian was able to accomplish.

Still, fans are hopeful that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni can regain momentum before the release of the MandoVerse crossover film centered on the New Republic. Well, a new rumor suggests they'll finally be able to turn the tide back in their favor and it's all thanks to Ahsoka Tano.

Rumor has it that Lucasfilm executives (via Star Wars Meg) are very thrilled about Ahsoka, even going as far as calling it the best Star Wars show to date.

Reports also claim that Dave Filoni impressed the production company's higher-ups, so much so that it led to him being chosen to direct the upcoming MandoVerse crossover film which is said to be eyeing a 2026 release date.

While it's a little too early to tell if Ahsoka will in fact be better than The Mandalorian, the stuff we've seen from the trailer alone is a good indication that the show will at least be on par with the MandoVerse's flagship series.

Filoni is mainly in charge of the series, serving as its main writer, as well as directing a number of episodes. By the looks of things, he's been pretty involved with its creative process which is definitely a good thing because if there's one guy who truly knows these characters, it's him.

Ahsoka is expected to hit Disney+ this August.
