Prince Andrew recently made headlines following his appearance at Prince Philip’s memorial service on Tuesday.

The Duke of York didn’t just attend the gathering, he also escorted Queen Elizabeth to and from Westminster Abbey. Prince Andrew and the queen also rode the same car together on their way to the venue.

But even if Prince Andrew made a rare public appearance to pay tribute to Prince Philip, royal biographer Angela Levin believes that this could be the last time royal fans would see him – at least for now.

Prince Andrew Could Skip Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee Because Of Prince Charles, Prince William

During a recent interview, Levin said that it’s unlikely for Prince Andrew to attend Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in June. And Prince Charles and Prince William would make sure that he won’t be there.

“I think when the Jubilee comes, Prince Charles and Prince William are going to be very, very strong in saying that he's [Andrew] not there. I think this Thanksgiving ceremony is full of emotion and full of sadness and marvel at what an amazing man the Duke of Edinburgh was. But the Jubilee is, let's have fun and celebrate. I think then you can really put your foot down and say, 'mum, grandma - this is just not on,’” Levin said (via Express).

Prince Andrew Shouldn’t Have Been Given A Key Role At Prince Philip’s Memorial

Following Prince Andrew’s recent public appearance, former BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt said that the move must have reminded the public of the many errors of judgment that led him to be removed from public life. The Duke of York was previously accused of sexually abusing Virginia Roberts Giuffre, but they recently reached a settlement.

“He could have sat in the congregation with others, with his relatives, but they actively decided that he would have this role of supporting her. So, she has chosen, in essence, to remind people that he hasn't admitted any wrongdoing, he's not guilty of anything, he's innocent. And she's very clearly stating that he has a role at family occasions. It's one thing to accept that he should attend his father's memorial service, it's quite another thing to then give him quite a prominent role, so it was an active choice to give him such a prominent role,” Hunt said.

The former royal correspondent couldn’t also help but wonder if the queen consulted Prince Charles and Prince William with regard to Prince Andrew’s role at the memorial. He said that if the father and son talked the queen out of her plans then it’s clear that the monarch got her way in the end.

As such, it’s also possible for Prince Andrew to attend the queen’s Platinum Jubilee because he also contributed to the British monarchy in his own way.

Prince Andrew Has No Place In The Royal Family’s Celebrations

Earlier this year, royal author Katie Nicholl predicted that Prince Andrew would disappear from sight after the queen stripped him of all his military titles and patronages. But her prediction was made before the Duke of York and Giuffre reached a settlement.

Even royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams is convinced that Prince Andrew would skip the queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration.

“He has no place in royal family public celebrations. The royal family has basically made it clear that he has been an embarrassment for too long. There are simply too many problems there,” he told Insider.

Fitzwilliams added that it would only make sense if Prince Charles and Prince William helped in making touch decisions when it comes to Prince Andrew.

“They are the guardians of the monarchy. All the royals are coming together, of course, it grieves the Queen, but there was no option. This was inevitable,” Fitzwilliam said.
