Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were the exact people they were looking for when they met, according to a royal biographer. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were reportedly both needy and were looking for someone when their path crossed.
Meghan Markle Reportedly Looking For A Rich And Famous Husband When She Met Prince Harry
British author and investigative journalist Tom Bower dropped a new book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors, about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last week. The former BBC journalist and TV producer appeared on GB News' Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel and discussed the royal couple's relationship.
The host asked if Prince Harry and Markle "exacerbate each other's weakness" or if they "strengthen each other."
"I think they're both very needy people, but the point is I think, Meghan was on a manhunt," Bower said. "She was looking for a husband, an English husband and Harry was available."
He went on, "She carefully researched all his strengths and more importantly his weaknesses and when that moment came, when she first met him, she could easily, because she's an extraordinary good performer in those circumstances, she's an actress, after all, she could reassure him that she was the one he was looking for."
He believed that their relationship would work because Prince Harry was the one that Markle was looking for. He weighed in on their marriage and said their relationship worked for "Meghan because that was the sort of person [she was] looking for, famous and rich."
In his book, Bower claimed that Markle was still living with her then-boyfriend Cory Vitiello when she met Prince Harry on a blind date in 2016. When the Horrible Bosses star reportedly realized that her relationship with Prince Harry had a future, she broke up with the celebrity chef.
"At the end of the week, after he returned to London, Meghan was convinced that her spell was cast and the relationship with Harry would be sealed. She told Cory that their affair was over," Bower wrote in an excerpt obtained by Page Six.
Prince Harry Allegedly Desperate For Somebody When He Met Meghan Markle
While Meghan Markle was allegedly looking for a "rich and famous" person, Prince Harry was reportedly desperate to have someone in his life, which the Duchess of Sussex filled.
"He was desperately looking for somebody. He confessed he was a lonely man. He confessed he couldn't find anyone suitable," Bower said about Prince Charles' youngest son.
"He'd gone through some very unhappy relationships and Meghan fitted the bill. She provided everything he would need. She was good-looking. She was good company. She could talk the way he wanted to talk about his subjects like Africa and things like that and they both needed each other."

He added that for Prince Harry, Markle was a "wonderful gift," and their relationship was a "match made in heaven."
Bower believed that Prince William's brother is happy where he is today.
"I know many people can't believe the relationship will continue, but I think Harry seems to be pretty happy in America, he likes paddling in the Pacific, he likes the sunshine, he likes being free from Kensington Palace and the control of Buckingham Palace," the Rebel Prince author said.
