Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's marriage received mixed responses, with several saying it won't last. Queen Elizabeth's long-serving aide Lady Hussey was reportedly one of them, according to a new book.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry's Marriage Reportedly Doomed?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have beaten those who gave their marriage three years to last as they celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary last May. Meanwhile, some give the royal couple five years or so.

Lady Hussey, a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth since 1960, was reportedly one of those who shared her thoughts about Prince Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle. She didn't give them an ultimatum but warned that it would "all end in tears," according to Tom Bower's new book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors.

"While discussing the possibility that Meghan might become associated with the National Theatre after the wedding, Hussey became unexpectedly serious about the couple’s future," Bower wrote in an excerpt obtained by The Telegraph.

"That will all end in tears," Lady Hussey allegedly said. "Mark my words."

The Queen's aide reportedly made a comment at lunch with a group of theatre executives a few months before Prince Harry and Markle's royal wedding in 2018.

Lady Hussey was reportedly one of the Queen's most trusted aides and was part of a Palace team directed to help Markle settle into life within the firm. Samantha Cohen, Her Majesty's former assistant private secretary, led the team.

When Lady Hussey and "other close companions of the Queen" visited the Duchess of Sussex at Nottingham Cottage to offer help and advice, the former actress was "insistent" that she would not allow Buckingham Palace to shape her or dictate her thoughts, Bower wrote.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry's Marriage Heading For Divorce?

Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha Markle was among those who weighed in on the royal couple's marriage. For her, the royal couple's union is not for a lifetime.

Samantha shared her thoughts about her sister's royal marriage after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey last year.

"I see it ending in divorce unless they get extensive counseling and can agree to work on being honest, to work on apologies to everyone that they've damaged in the course of this bull-in-a-china-shop two-year-spiel," she said in a videotaped interview shared by TMZ. "I mean nothing. Nothing about any of this has been on it and the damage to the royals has been massive, especially now."

Samantha claimed that the royal prince was already probably questioning his relationship with Markle after their interview with Winfrey, where they sparked racist allegations against the royal family after they shared that a member of the firm raised concern about their unborn child's complexion.

"Maybe he is already questioning it. He has to be if he has a functioning frontal lobe. Come on, he's not 12," Samantha continued. "He was in the military. He's got to have a sense of 'Oh my God. Everything you said to me has been a lie.' What man would be happy or comfortable like that?"

Royal biographer Angela Levin commented on Prince Harry and Markle's gestures at the United Nations Assembly Monday. According to her, the couple was not the usual picture of a couple in love.

"You look at it and you see this is not somebody showing love or anything because they didn't look at each other," Levin said while observing the Sussexes at the event. "She did it and he was looking over there and she was looking over here, so something was going on yesterday."
