Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been living away from the U.K. for two years now. Despite being miles and miles away from the royal family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex continue to receive backlash from their critics.

Upon announcing their decision to quit the royal life, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry cited their desire to become financially independent from the Firm as the primary reason why they chose to step back from their senior royal roles. However, the Sussex couple revealed to Oprah Winfrey, last year, that the unending attacks of the British media and the ongoing “racism” in the palace pushed them to make their shocking Megxit.

Now, new reports claimed that royal followers urged Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to only return to the U.K. for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations if they can “keep it quiet.” Keep on reading to know more details.

Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Advised To Ditch Attention-Seeking Stunts?

Up until now, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have not made any confirmation on whether they would be making a comeback to join the forthcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Queen Elizabeth in June. However, royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti stated it would be better if the Sussex pair do not return and “steal” attention from Her Majesty.

Talking to US Weekly’s Royally Us, Jonathan shared:

“I don’t personally imagine Meghan coming to the U.K. very easily. She may prove me wrong but people here have such a low opinion of her if not of both of them these days that I think she would be very brave to come back to the UK. But I do still say that if they could come back and if they could not be front and centre, keep it quiet but just come back to help celebrate not just for the Queen but for the whole country then that will probably be very nice and it might rehabilitate them somewhat towards the British people. I don't really think that's their style anymore.”

The royal expert went on to say:

"They don't like to do things quietly, they don't like someone else to be the centre of attention when they're around and I think that where Harry and Meghan go, it's the Harry and Meghan show. It probably would be better if they didn't come and steal the limelight from the Queen."

Amid the rumored return of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to the U.K., there are also claims that Queen Elizabeth would not be seen “as much” as royal followers had hoped during the revelries in June. Daily Mail royal editor Rebecca English told Palace Confidential on MailPlus:

"The conversations they're having now around the Queen and the Jubilee are very different to the conversations they were having a year ago. A year ago they expected her to be front and center at everything, attending every event and that definitely is no longer the case. She will attend what they call, the big keynote events around the Jubilee in the run up to it and over the four-day bank holiday weekend. But she definitely won't be attending everything.”

The royal expert added:

"I'm told please don't let that be a cause for alarm. It's a simple fact of life at 95, you wake up with aches and pains you didn't have the day before. If she gets a cold, it will maybe knock her out of circulation a little bit longer than it would have done a year ago. These are celebrations of her historic anniversary and she will definitely be seen but just be warned it won't be quite as much as we had hoped."

Most, if not all, royal fans are aware that Prince Harry currently bids for police security on his upcoming visits to the U.K. In February, lawyers for Meghan Markle’s husband told the High Court he did not feel safe visiting under current arrangements. So, the Duke of Sussex wants to pay for police security for himself and his family while in Britain.

Prince Harry challenged a Home Office decision after his not-so-good experience when he visited last summer. Photographers chased the car of Meghan Markle’s better half as he left a garden party for seriously-ill children and young people, as patron of the Wellchild charity.

Netizens Urge Meghan Markle And Prince Harry To Not Bring Lilibet To Meet Queen

Meanwhile, a recent Express UK poll revealed what netizens think about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry bringing Lilibet to Britain to finally meet Queen Elizabeth. The said publication ran the survey from March 6 to March 7, asking: “Do you think Meghan and Harry should bring Lilibet to meet the Queen?”

A total of 7,639 netizens participated in the poll and 81% of them selected “no.” Just 22% of the total number of respondents answered “yes” and two percent were undecided.

Express UK readers also expressed their thoughts in the comment section. Many of them felt that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had damaged relationships with the rest of the royal family members.

One commenter penned:

“They have totally disrespected the Queen and the family. They then call their daughter the Queen's pet name, totally despicable.”

Another netizen stated:

“Not if it means they are using her as an excuse to get the security they are demanding. Make a private visit by all means but don't use it as a PR stunt.”

A third Express UK reader said:

“If they wanted to bring her they would have done it ages ago. The only way they'd ever bring her I'd if they would gain something from it monetary wise or promotional wise.”

Another commenter wrote:

“I very sadly had to vote NO to them bringing the wee lass to meet her great-gran. I would like the Queen to meet her new great-granddaughter in person but the Henrys would make such a spectacle of it and their presence that I have to hope it doesn't happen.”

Both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to comment on royal expert Jonathan Sacerdoti’s recent statements and the results of the Express UK poll.
