Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been sparking speculations that they could star in a reality TV show for Netflix. Speculations became rifer after Markle’s animated series, Pearl was canceled by the streaming platform. And since the couple has yet to release a project for Netflix, royal fans became convinced that a reality TV show could soon be in the works.

Director Liz Garbus Will Helm Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s At-Home Docuseries

This week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle once again sparked rumors that their Netflix reality TV show could finally be a go. After all, Express revealed that the couple hired director Liz Garbus to film their at-home docuseries.

Last September, Garbus was photographed with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in New York. At the time, cameras hounded the couple and the publication claimed that they were followed by a camera crew to film scenes that will be included in the docuseries.

Before Garbus was reportedly hired by Prince Harry and Markle, a Hollywood insider also predicted that Netflix would be getting its pound of flesh from Prince Harry and Markle.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Reality TV Show Will Be Juicier Than The Invictus Games Documentary

In May, Page Six also claimed that a Prince Harry and Markle at-home docuseries is in the works. The publication said that the couple was followed by a camera crew in the Netherlands for the Invictus Games. This project was announced by Netflix shortly after the Sussexes signed a multi-year deal with them over a year ago.

“But they have also been shadowed for another project that will be much juicier, we’re told. The cameras have been allowed behind the scenes at their home in Montecito, Calif., and joined the Sussexes on their trip to NYC last September,” the publication said.

However, it is important to note that Prince Harry and Markle, as well as Netflix, have not yet made an official announcement regarding the alleged docuseries. But if it pushes through, it could show royal fans a glimpse of what the couple’s everyday life in the United States is like.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Reality TV Show Likened To Keeping Up With The Kardashians

There are also rumors that the docuseries would be similar to Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which was a reality TV show that aired on the E! network for several seasons. KUWTK followed the lives of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. After the show was canceled, the members of the Kardashian-Jenner family moved to Hulu where The Kardashians currently air.

But shortly after the couple signed a deal with Netflix, they released a statement saying that they do not have any plans to appear in the projects that they would produce.

A source told the Los Angeles Times that the couple won’t be appearing in a reality TV show. But royal fans are convinced that the plans changed along the way. After all, the couple still had other projects lined up for Netflix back then but they only have the Invictus Games documentary today.
