Marvel's Darth Vader #25 Finally Reveals Anakin Skywalker's Father

When Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace came out, many fans were disappointed with the film. Whether it was the lackluster acting or George Lucas' implementing Midichlorians to the mythos, fans didn't like the changes made. Another thing fans roll their eyes over is the reveal that Anakin has no father and that The Force impregnated his mother, making him Jedi Jesus.

It seems like the force really did impregnate Anakin Skywalker's mother but it turns out that he does have a father. Anakin still wasn't made via fornication but it turns out that a popular fan theory that came from Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith ended up being true; Emperor Palpatine is technically Anakin's father.

According to Marvel's Darth Vader #25, Palpatine manipulated the Midichlorians that were "making" Anakin, which resulted in the Jedi/Monster we know today. Palpatine did reveal to Anakin that he learned how to create life during Revenge of the Sith as a way to get him on his side after the Padawan expressed concern in losing his wife Padme Amidala.

Some fans might consider this sacrilege but it's a pretty cool reveal and shows just how much lore these comic books add to the franchise. Admittedly, this won't be paying off in any of the Star Wars movies anytime soon but it doesn't have to. It's just cool seeing Marvel go wild with the franchise and make crazy changes that fans are going crazy over.

Darth Vader #25 is now available in comic book stores.
