Marvel Studios Has Reportedly Started Working on Eternals and Shang-Chi Sequels

With the success of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals at the box office, it is inevitable at this point that both Phase Four films will be getting their own respective sequels. After all, MCU fans would love to see where the characters will go next on their journey.

While a sequel to Shang-Chi has already been confirmed to be in development by the major trades and rumors of an Eternals sequel have been making rounds around the web for the past several months, we still have not heard any updates on whether Marvel Studios is indeed moving forward with them.

Now, insider KC Insider shared some updates about the respective projects on Twitter where he revealed that Shang-Chi 2 and Eternals 2 have been added to Marvel Studios' production calendar which means that the studio has officially started development for both projects.

We do have to take note that Marvel Studios themselves have not confirmed this latest development of the projects nor it has been reported by the major trades yet so we still have to take it with a grain of salt for now.

Assuming that this ends up being true, it is obviously exciting that these two projects are now officially moving forward at the studio and it is just a matter of time before we might start hearing more tangible details about them as well as which upcoming phases will they be part of if they move past development.

While both first films did not earn the same box office as what we've used to see in most MCU projects, they were still successful and the audience was able to love the new characters which are probably why Marvel Studios did not hesitate to move forward with the sequels.

We should be hearing more details about the alleged projects that are in the works in the coming months as the MCU continues to move forward.
