Marvel is unleashing something monstrous come the new year. And it comes in the form of monsters.
There will be an epic event in January as renowned artists come together to deliver Marvel Monsters Unleashed.
According to Marvel Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso, Marvel Monsters Unleashed will bring the beasts that have been in the history of the franchise, with the sole purpose of delivering destruction to the lovely planet Earth.
"Everything about this story is massive—the scope, the stakes, and of course, those incredible monsters. Five action-packed issues celebrate Marvel's past, present, and future, as one new, unforgettable character and several brand-new monsters—created and designed by Cullen Bunn, the five artists, and a few surprise guest artists—arrive to leave an indelible mark on the Marvel Universe."
To tease the event, Marvel has released a press release (via Newsarama), which revealed six more monster names alongside their respective artists, packed in insane trading card format.
The six monsters are the following:
> Slizzik (Steve McNiven)
> Scraag (Greg Land)
> Mekra (Leinil Francis Yu)
> Aegis (Salvador Larroca)
> Hi-Vo (Adam Kubert)
> Fireclaw (Art Adams)
And Marvel doesn't' just have the art for these monsters packed and ready. Even the statistics in terms of intelligence, strength, speed, durability, energy projection, and fighting ability have all been plotted out to see.
