Marvel Fans Still Side with Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch Villain Role for Doctor Strange 2

After months of anticipation, the highly-anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has finally arrived in theaters. Elizabeth Olsen first made her debut as Wanda Maximoff in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Ever since the character's introduction as a villain, Wanda had tremendous character development and sided with the Avengers. Wanda then appeared in several notable films throughout the Infinity Saga while her power continues to grow that even at one point, almost severed the Mad Titan Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

Just when we thought this was Wanda's peak, Disney+'s WandaVision had developed the character even more. In the events of WandaVision, Wanda created a Hex over the entire town of Westview to create her reality where Vision still exists. The conclusion of the series molded Wanda into her comic counterpart, the Scarlet Witch, who is a very strong character in the source material.

Now that Wanda has fully evolved into the Scarlet Witch and her power continues to grow even more, unfortunately, Wanda is now set to antagonize Cumberbatch's titular sorcerer in the upcoming sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Despite the surprising twist with Olsen's character, Marvel fans are still rooting for Wanda aka. Scarlet Witch.

Rooting for the anti-hero is not really something new with the MCU. With several fan-beloved villains like Black Panther's Killmonger, Thor: Ragnarok's Hela, and now MCU vet, Loki.

Wanda undoubtedly made it as one of our favorite characters in the MCU, and the Doctor Strange sequel won't definitely be the character's last outing, considering how the actress could still be involved in massive storylines in future projects. Aside from that, Olsen reportedly signed a contract extension with Marvel Studios that extends for the next 7 years, which means the future is bright with Wanda.

For now, we can catch Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, now screening in theaters worldwide.
