Marvel Cinematic Studios Bags 5 Major Wins at 2022 MTV Awards


Marvel Cinematic Studios kickstarted MCU’s Phase 4 with Scarlett Johansson's final project as Black Widow on her own standalone film and with Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany’s Disney+ beloved series WandaVision. Following that, Marvel released a total of six shows and five movies on their current slate since 2021. As the MCU intends to push for more recognition in tremendous awarding bodies, one awarding ceremony recently acknowledged the MCU’s success.

Marvel Studios brought home five awards at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Loki, and Black Widow.

Spider-Man: No Way Home won in two categories, Best Movie, and Tom Holland won Best Performance for his role as Peter Parker.

Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow won the Best Hero award, a triumphant victory for her final performance as the beloved Avenger.

Loki's Sylvie actress Sophia Di Martino bags Breakthrough Best Performance award for Loki. The Disney+ series also won the Best Team category for Tom Hiddleston's Loki, Owen Wilson's Mobius, and Di Martino's Sylvie.

Ryan Reynolds earned Best Comedic Performance for Shawn Levy's Free Guy.

Last but definitely not least, No Way Home's Zendaya won Best Performance in a Show for her amazing portrayal of Rue in the HBO series Euphoria.

Although the MCU's most-acclaimed Infinity Saga had already concluded, it seems that the MCU will not stop offering the fans more awesome films and shows to anticipate. With Phase 4's current lineup that consists of other beloved movies and shows like Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings, Moon Knight, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the chances of landing more nominations no longer look surprising.

Aside from that, the MCU is set to defy more expectations with several upcoming projects like Thor: Love and Thunder, Ms. Marvel, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3.

It's certainly pleasant to know that the MCU is now being recognized by prestigious awarding bodies. After all, it's the most popular franchise in the world.
