The future of Mark Ruffalo's Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still uncertain and fans are curious to know whether or not the actor will ever make his return. Universal still owns feature rights to the character, but Marvel will still be able to use him in a show. If it were up to Ruffalo, here's how he would do a Hulk TV series.

"Maybe we make it into a series and we jump through the Universal," Ruffalo said at the C2E2 Panel in Chicago (via ComicBook.com). "Universal owns the rights to Hulk as a standalone movie, so that's really why we can't make one. But, we can do a TV show!"

"I'd probably kind of start him on the run again a little bit," the actor continued. Ruffalo thinks the concept works in this new digital age where everything is all "surveilled." "That might be kind of an interesting dimension to how he stays on the run," he added. Ruffalo says he'd start with Hulk deciding that he doesn't want to do it anymore, but since he is a professor, it gets harder to hide.

There's only one Hulk solo flick in the MCU so far because of Universal's rights to the character. But if Ruffalo would want to see Hulk return in a feature, he said he'd want Banner and Hulk to have a battle, with the professor "sort of the brainchild of that." He would even want Hulk to face off against Wolverine too.

For now, it isn't clear whether Ruffalo would return as Hulk in the near future. That being said, he also revealed in the event that he has had "preliminary talks" to appear in the Disney+ series, She-Hulk.
