Saying that Chainsaw Man Episode 8 was a rollercoaster ride is a huge understatement given the shocking turn of events. Aside from the stunned reactions from fans, the latest Chainsaw Man episode also made Makima VA Tomori Kusunoki upset.
Recently, Makima’s voice actress revealed on her personal Twitter account that she watched the latest episode.
While she readied herself with what she was about to see, watching it all unfold still made her upset due to what looked like lots of major character deaths.

Chainsaw Man Episode 8 Recap
The latest episode began with a replay of the last events of Episode 7 but from the point of view of Himeno.
While Himeno comes on to Denji, he remembers how Makima was nice to him during their drinking party and how she offered him a cola-flavored lollipop.
Because of this, Denji spurned Himeno’s advances.
The following day, Himeno is happy to find out that nothing happened between herself and Denji.
She then proposes a deal with Denji. Himeno will help him get close to Makima if Denji helps her get with Aki.
Episode 8’s start is fairly uneventful action-wise, but things suddenly escalate as devil hunters such as Makima, Kobeni, Arai, and others are shown being gunned down by pistol-wielding assailants.
Elsewhere, Denji, Power, Aki, and Himeno encounter a yakuza member who shoots them and transforms into a fearsome devil hybrid (known by many as Katana Man).
Aki faces off against Katana Man, and while he is able to beat him with the Curse Devil, Katana Man survives and almost kills Aki.
With the team in dire straits, Himeno decides to sacrifice herself to save Aki and beat Katana Man.
Though it seems her efforts aren’t enough as Katana Man and his ally are still alive, while Power is gone and Denji has been shot in the head.

Makima VA Reacts to Chainsaw Man Deaths
Manga readers already expected what will happen in Episode 8. On the flip side, most anime-only fans were stunned by the latest episode’s story.
Many are still in shock and in disbelief over what happened. Among them is Tomori Kusunoki, the voice actress of Makima.
On Twitter, she shared how she watched the latest episode when she got home.
While Kusunoki said that she was prepared for what she was about to see, that did not stop her from being upset and exhausted by what happened in the latest episode.
She also remarked that she is going to eat some cola-flavored candy to make her feel better after Episode 8.
If this is already the reaction to Episode 8, it will be interesting to see what the reactions will be to the next set of Chainsaw Man episodes.
The ninth episode will be released on Tuesday next week on Crunchyroll.
