MCU fans have been looking forward to the second season of Loki after the cliffhanger ending of the first season which paved a way for the God of Mischief's bigger adventure when we see him again. For weeks, we've been hearing some updates about the next season and now we finally know when they are finally going to start filming.
According to Production List, the second season of Loki is scheduled to begin filming on June 6 in London, United Kingdom. While the date hasn't been confirmed by Marvel yet, the source has been mostly reliable when it comes to production dates since it is a tracking service website by the Film & Television Industry Alliance.
The reported date is also in-alignment with the reports a few months ago that the second season is set to begin filming this summer while Tom Hiddleston also mentioned recently in an interview with The Playlist that the second season was set to begin filming "in like six weeks" during that time.
This update should excite fans who have been looking forward to the second season since it is a sign that they are officially moving forward to it and we could expect a release for the God of Mischief's next adventure around next year or early 2024 at the latest if there are post-production delays. We might hear more news or updates regarding the development of the second season in the next few weeks if they are indeed going to start filming next month.
So far, there are still no exact details regarding the plot of the second season. We can expect Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw to return and reprise their respective roles. It is still unknown if Wunmi Mosaku and Tara Strong will also come back. Eric Martin wrote all the episodes while Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will helm the majority of the episodes.
