The Fast and Furious franchise continues to dominate theaters around the world. Universal Pictures has been making these movies for over a decade now. And to date, there are already 11 films under the franchise with some spinoff shows.

While the recently released movie, Fast X, is said to be the penultimate movie, the franchise has a number of spinoff movies planned out. These spinoff projects will be focusing on the other characters that the franchise has introduced over the years.

But while new characters continue to be introduced in the franchise, many continue to wonder what happened to Leon in Fast and previous movies. Some have moved on and seemed to have forgotten who Leon is.

If you are part of the group who is curious to know whatever happened to Leon in the franchise, we're here to give you the answers that you're looking for.

Leon was part of The Fast and the Furious film, the first movie that came out in 2001. Played by Johnny Strong, Leon was originally part of Dom Toretto's (played by Vin Diesel) crew along with Letty Ortiz (played by Michelle Rodriguez) and Vince (played by Matt Schulze).

Leon was a supporting role who acted as the lookout during their street races. He also joined in on some truck hijacks that Dom orchestrated.

Personality-wise, Leon has been described as a loner who seemed to lost. Strong described the character as someone who struggled to find his way and looked for somewhere to fit in.

Other than the first film, Leon also had a cameo role in Fast Five and a flashback scene in Fast & Furious 6.

Ever since he left the franchise, Strong reveals that he gets asked the question almost every week.

"I get asked on a weekly basis by fans of my work and fans of Fast & Furious, 'What happened to Leon?' If you watch the film and you understand the characters, it would be understandable that he would disappear and move on, just as he showed up."

In the first film, it was revealed that Leon had been hesitant to join the heist that was becoming too risky for him. After all, both Letty and Vince almost died.

When he voices his disapproval for the heist, Dom shuts him down. This shows that Leon started to doubt Dom as their leader.

We can recall that when they attempted to hijack a truck on the highway, Letty's car spun off the road. Vince, on the other hand, got his arm tangled in the harpoon wire they used to climb the truck.

Dom instructed Leon to help Letty instead of him. When Vince got airlifted to the hospital, both Letty and Leon drove away.

Later at Dom's house, Brian O'Conner (played by Paul Walker) asks where they were. Dom responds that the two were "long gone.

But there really wasn't a proper exit story for Strong's character. While Letty later returns in the franchise, Leon never got a chance to.

Leon's exit from the franchise has always been left for interpretation, which is probably why many fans continue to wonder what happened to him in the movie.

No, Leon is not part of Fast X. After Leon's exit in the first movie, there was very little mention of his character in the franchise.

But there's reason to believe that Leon is still alive somewhere. He probably only left the crew because he had enough of Dom's crazy ideas.

Considering the fact that Fast X was created to start the franchise's end, it would be hard to bring back Strong's character in a future movie.

Still, Strong has expressed that he is open to the idea of reprising his role:

"It would have be the right situation and it would have to make sense character and story-wise… I would hope if I was involved that it would go back to the gritty beginnings of the franchise."

But he also clarified that his return would have to be something important to the story before he decides to return.

"They might not be open to it, but if it's just something for me to collect a big check and do it just to do it, then I'm not really interested. I love knowing that Leon is out there in that Fast & Furious universe somewhere. Because there's no resolution to him, that's what keeps the spirit alive. I think it's awesome that fans still talk about a character who was probably in the movie for a total of five minutes."
