It looks like we'll be seeing more of Vin Diesel as a superpowered former Marine after all. DMG Entertainment CEO and Chairman of Valiant Entertainment Dan Mintz has just confirmed that they are still eager to work on a Bloodshot sequel with the Fast and Furious star.
Mintz recently spoke to CBR where he confirmed that there are plans for Bloodshot 2.
"I think [Bloodshot] was very successful in that respect, a lot of people saw it and it did very well in the post-release rollout but you can't use the same evaluation process, pre-COVID, to this," Mintz said. He then pointed out that the people involved with the first movie are on board for the sequel.
"[Are] Vin Diesel and all those people going to still continue? Yes, because it did so well and the response to it has been so well, it's just that the response has been in a non-transparent environment, as opposed to a transparent environment like box office numbers," Mintz said.
It's interesting that Mintz is eager to pursue a second Bloodshot film although the first film had a lukewarm reception. On the other hand, the sequel could do something that the original movie wasn't able to. In the meantime, there hasn't been an official announcement about Bloodshot 2. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
The first Bloodshot film also starred Eiza González, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell, and Guy Pearce. The movie was released on March 13, 2020.
