With Call of the Night's first season about to wrap up soon, a new character is set to be introduced in the next episode. And it turns out that an iconic voice actor from Hunter x Hunter is the one joining the Call of the Night voice cast.
The new character is named Anko Uguisu, a detective who is looking for Akihito Akiyama and meets Kou in the process.
She is voiced by voice actress Miyuki Sawashiro, a renowned VA who is known for various iconic roles, including Kurapika in Hunter x Hunter.
Sawashiro is a VA that’s known for her range as she has voiced other iconic characters such as Suruga Kanbaru in the Monogatari series, Mordred in Fate/Apocrypha, Celty Sturluson in Durarara!!, Daki in Demon Slayer, and more.
With Sawashiro joining the show, Call of the Night’s voice cast has become even more stacked as the anime also features other popular VAs. These include Sora Amamiya, Haruka Tomatsu, Youko Hikasa, and Eri Kitamura.
Call of the Night is a TV anime by Liden Films that’s based on the manga of the same name by Kotoyama. The manga started serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday on August 28, 2019.
The series follows Kou Yamori, a middle school student who starts feeling dissatisfied with his life and quits school soon after. To cope, he takes nightly walks alone.
One night, while walking alone, Kou meets Nazuna who promises to help him feel better about his situation by showing him the bright side of being a nightwalker. But it turns out that Nazuna is a vampire.
Instead of being scared off, Kou decides that he wants to be a vampire like her. But she won’t be able to turn him into one that easily because in order to become a vampire, a person must be bitten by someone they love.
Because of this, Kou resolves to fall in love with Nazuna. Thus begins their unlikely adventure.
New episodes of Call of the Night are released every week.
