It's pretty safe to say that a lot of comic book fans got their first proper introduction to Spider-Man through Sam Raimi's Spidey trilogy from the 2000s which is still regarded by many as the definitive live-action portrayal of the web-slinger. The film made actors Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst household names in Hollywood and up to now, the on-screen pairing of the two still has legions of fans worldwide.

However, the process of preparing for the role wasn't always that easy, at least for the Mary Jane Watson actress. Dunst reveals what she almost went through before playing the character in 2002's Spider-Man in a new interview. Speaking with Independent, the award-winning star revealed that one producer who she refused to name tried to force her to "fix" her teeth without her knowledge.

Dunst was 19 at the time and according to her, a producer for the original Spider-Man film took her to a dentist in an attempt to get her teeth altered all without giving her the heads up. She recalls: "I was like, ‘Mmmmm, no, I like my teeth,'" explained Dunst. "Also, Sofia [Coppola] loved my teeth."

Meanwhile, Dunst is also heavily rumored to be reprising her MJ role in Spider-Man: No Way Home and despite her constant denial, many fans are convinced that she's actually making at least a cameo appearance in the anticipated MCU project. If you may recall though, Kirsten has previously thrown shade at Tom Holland's Spidey films, claiming that they're nothing compared to Sam Raimi's original trilogy so I don't know how MCU diehards would feel if her version of the character shows up in Earth-616.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is slated for theatrical release on December 17.
