Kim Min Kyu is growing to become one of the best young actors in the industry.

Kim Min Kyu, aside from starring in different dramas, famously made people drop their jaws with his visuals and vocals when he appeared in I Can See Your Voice in 2017.

At that time, he already had minor roles in TV dramas like Signal, Because This Is My First Life, and Monstar.

However, the talent that he showed in the mystery music game show has a history.

Kim Min Kyu Almost Debuted in SEVENTEEN?

Kim Min Kyu recently appeared as a guest on the MBC show Radio Star. According to the actor, he once became an idol trainee before choosing his acting career as his official path.

He told the viewers on the June 15 episode that he trained to become a member of a group, and he surprisingly revealed that he spent time with SEVENTEEN members during his trainee days.

“I don’t know if I would have necessarily been in that group, but there are people that I trained together with. They’re SEVENTEEN. I was only a trainee for a month,” he said.

As for the reason why he quit, he reportedly realized that he was not extremely good at singing and dancing. With that, he decided to cut his journey short.

But he soon found a bright light as his thirst for acting never went away. With that, he pursued a career in the TV and film industry.

Kim Min Kyu’s Filmography So Far

Kim Min Kyu did not mention whether he was already an actor when he trained with SEVENTEEN. But his nearly one decade of career has already allowed him to collect several titles under his belt.

His first leading role arrived when he was tapped to lead the historical drama, Queen: Love and War in 2019. He played the role of King of Joseon, Lee Kyung.

The actor then continuously landed different roles in several movies, including Backstreet Rookie, So I Married an Anti-Fan, and Snowdrop.

He also became part of the hit series, A Business Proposal, and fans now expect Kim Min Kyu to appear in more films and dramas in the next few years.
