There's no denying that Kevin Feige has become synonymous with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and for well over a decade, the beloved executive helped build a seemingly indestructible entertainment juggernaut.

However, it's evident that the MCU is running out of steam and a recent report exposed that the franchise could be in panic mode which is quite concerning.

With rumors floating around that Feige is hitting the reset button on the MCU after Avengers: Secret Wars, speculation is at an all-time high regarding his Marvel future.

Now, a new rumor claims Feige could potentially leave the MCU to jump ship to a different franchise.

According to X insider @MyTimeToShineH, Feige is thinking about exiting the billion-dollar franchise and has his sights set on leading the Star Wars franchise.

Key details were not disclosed but this isn't the first time the MCU patriarch was rumored to be stepping down as Marvel Studios boss. Interestingly, a recent rumor claimed that Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy is exiting the production company "sooner than you think".

If you may recall, Kennedy stated at the Star Wars Celebration earlier this year (via IGN) that Feige's supposed Star Wars film wasn't actually in the works, despite previous reports.

Of course, we've yet to get official word from the Marvel executive regarding his future plans but when you think about it, the idea doesn't sound farfetched to be true. Feige has done everything on the MCU side of things and realistically, overseeing two mega-franchises could be a little too overwhelming even if they both live under the same Disney umbrella.

Also, with all the plaguing issues the MCU is currently facing quality-wise, perhaps a change of environment or in this case "galaxy" is what Feige needs now and obviously, the Star Wars franchise could give him just that.
