It's no secret that fans have had a love-and-hate relationship with Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and since Disney took over Star Wars over a decade ago, we can safely say that Kathleen has become one of the franchise's most polarizing figures.
For years, rumors have circulated online that Kennedy's tenure as the production company's chief is coming to an end but most of them have been proven false. Now, another rumor claims it's finally happening.

Over the last couple of weeks, there's been massive speculation regarding the true status of Taika Waititi's mystery Star Wars film. The MCU director recently joked about his film getting shelved completely and reports later claimed that he's actually telling the truth.
While other sources were quick to debunk the rumored cancelation of his project, a new rumor claims that Taika's film is pretty much "dead". According to X scooper MyTimeToShineHello, the long-awaited flick won't get made and both Waititi and Lucasfilm won't admit it.
The post was then shared by CanWeGetSomeToast, another Hollywood insider who said the reason behind its silent cancelation is Kathleen Kennedy's impending exit from the production company.
The tipster claims that Kennedy's departure from Lucasfilm is happening "sooner than you think" and her yet-to-be-named replacement wants to stay away from the "mess" she created, hence the cancelation of several projects, including Taika's film and Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron.

To be fair, the Star Wars franchise is in a much better place than it was during the sequel trilogy era but of course, a lot of it can be attributed to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau's partnership.
Still, Kennedy is the one who has the final say so we still gotta give her credit at least.
