Actress Kang Soo Yeon will be honored and remembered months after her untimely death.
Following her passing, Kang Soo Yeon’s fans saw one of the last projects she made — including her final movie, Jung_E, on Netflix. The late child actress passed away before the film, wherein she played Seo Hyun’s role, was released on the streaming giant on Jan. 20.
Ahead of her death anniversary, the industry prepared something to honor her and remember her legacy.

Remembering Kang Soo Yeon
The Korea Times first reported the list of events planned for Kang Soo Yeon.
An organizing committee revealed on Monday that her colleagues, fans, and friends would remember the movie actress before her death anniversary in May. The committee is composed of actors and filmmakers.
They will reportedly publish a photobook featuring Kang Soo Yeon’s photos which were kept by her family members. It will also include photos of her from film festivals and studios.

From May 6 to 9, a special screening of 11 of her films would take place at the Korea Film Archive and Megabox Seongsoo. Among the films that will be presented include The Surrogate Womb, Blue in You, All That Falls, and Come, Come, Come Upward.
Kang Soo Yeon’s last movie, Jung_E, will also be part of the event.
Former chairman of the board of the Busan International Film Festival Kim Dong Ho leads the event. Meanwhile, he works with director Im Kwon Taek who serves as the committee’s chairman.
Kang Soo Yeon’s Death
Kang Soo Yeon was found unconscious by a family member inside her Apgujeong home. They called the 119 emergency hotline to seek help and asked the responders to rush her to a nearby hospital after performing CPR and regaining her consciousness.
However, she passed away in Gangnam Severance Hospital a few moments later.
It was soon revealed that Kang Soo Yeon died of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) following a heart attack.
