There is little doubt that Jujutsu Kaisen had an exciting weekend. The manga has dropped its latest chapter on Weekly Shonen Jump in time for Yuta Okkotsu's birthday. Now the cover art for the manga's 19th volume has been revealed and it's giving fans some major Kento Nanami flashbacks!
The official cover for Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 19 is illustrated by Gege Akutami and features Hiromi Higuruma with a wilted sunflower. It's a cool image of the public defense lawyer but fans are noticing that the pose is very similar to how Kento Nanami looked on the cover of Volume 11. Check it out below.
It's truly an awesome cover and fans can't stop comparing Higuruma's cover with Nanami's previous one.
It's interesting to note that both Higuruma and Nanami are sorcerers who also happen to be salarymen. They are also two of the most interesting characters in Jujutsu Kaisen and certainly deserve their own covers.
Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 19 is expected to contain Chapters 162 to 170 or 171 of the manga. This would include a huge chunk of the Tokyo No. 1 Colony arc where Higuruma is the main antagonist.
Meanwhile, the manga's latest chapter had one of the most amazing teases so far. In Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 177, Yuta Okkotsu faces off against Ryo Ishigori. In the last panel, Okkotsu calls on Rika, asking for her full power.
In the meantime, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is finally set for its North America release this month. Tickets for for the film are now live and the movie will premiere in the US and Canada on March 18, 2022.
Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 19 will be released on April 4, 2022. The second season of the anime has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to premiere in Winter 2023.
