Jujutsu Kaisen Stars Cast in Upcoming Blue Lock Anime

Ahead of the anime’s release, Blue Lock has announced two new members of its voice cast, and both are Jujutsu Kaisen stars.

Recently, two new characters in the anime were introduced via the official website and Twitter account. These new characters are Seishiro Nagi and Reo Mikage who are voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki and Yuma Uchida, respectively.

Blue Lock Cast, Staff

Nobunaga Shimazaki is a voice actor that’s known for his work in Jujutsu Kaisen as the cursed spirit Mahito.

Shimazaki has also voiced a wide range of characters from other anime, including Haruka Nanase in Free!, Shito Itsuka in Date A Live, Yuki Sohma in Fruits Basket, and Yuno in Black Clover.

Meanwhile, Yuma Uchida is the voice of Megumi Fushiguro, one of the principal characters in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Uchida also voiced Iori Kitahara in Grand Blue, Kyo Sohma in Fruits Basket, and Ash Lyx in Banana Fish.

The Jujutsu Kaisen stars Shimazaki and Uchida join the Blue Lock confirmed voice cast which includes:

  • Kazuki Ura as Yoichi Isagi
  • Soma Saito as Hyouma Chigiri
  • Yuki Ono as Rensuke Kumigami
  • Junichi Suwabe as Shouei Barou
  • Hiroshi Kamiya as Jinpachi Ego
  • Shugo Nakamura as Gin Gagamaru
  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Jingo Raichi
  • Masatomo Nakazawa as Wataru Kuon

The series is animated by studio Eight Bit, and it is directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe. Joining Watanabe is Shunsuke Ishikawa as assistant director, Taku Kishimoto as the scriptwriter, Masaru Shindo as main character designer and chief animation director, and Jun Murayama as the music composer.

Blue Lock Release Date, Info

Blue Lock is an anime series adaptation of the manga of the same name by Muneyuki Kaneshiro. The manga started serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine on August 1, 2018.

While Blue Lock is a sports series, it differs from other sports manga/anime as it is not set in a school. Instead, the series follows the Japanese national football team who finished 16th in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

In response, the Japanese Football Union hires Ego Jinpachi who introduces his plan called Blue Lock, a training regimen designed to develop the world’s best striker.

Blue Lock is set to release in October 2022, and it will air in Japan on TV Asahi. Outside Japan, the anime will stream on Crunchyroll.
